Respect, equality, democracy, freedom, obeying the law, English, and the Citizenship Pledge — all five values questions on the test must be correct.
Core values
- Respect for the freedom and dignity of the individual.
- Equality of men and women; mutual respect and tolerance.
- Democracy, rule of law, and peaceful expression within the law.
Citizenship expectations
- Uphold and obey Australian laws.
- Participate in community life; learn English to participate fully.
- The Citizenship Pledge includes loyalty to Australia and obeying its laws.
Scenario tips
- Values questions often describe everyday situations — choose respect, fairness, and lawful behaviour.
- On the real test you must answer all 5 values questions correctly to pass, even if your overall score is high.
